Cashiers Designer Showhouse

Kat was the co-chair of the 24th annual Cashiers Designer Showhouse, held each year in collaboration with Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Magazine. Due to a real estate boom in Highlands and Cashiers, NC, the team could not secure a showhouse. The 2021 event required creative problem-solving that allowed for the continuation of a design-themed fundraising event to benefit the Cashiers Historical Society. The result was a glamping event on the Society's grounds with six designer wall tents. All content was conservation, preservation, and stewardship focused. Kat served as project manager, working with design teams, stewardship partners, sponsors, press, and volunteers. She created all graphic and written content, built the website, curated social media and e-blast content, illustrated the themed coloring book, and acted as moderator for panel discussions during the two-week-long event. The event was covered in Plateau Magazine and Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Magazine.
